Why Proper Lubrication Matters
Lubrication is the lifeline of your homogeniser. Fresh, high-quality oil reduces friction, keeps temperatures stable, and protects critical moving parts such as bearings, crossheads, and the drive system.
When oil becomes old or contaminated, it loses its protective properties. This can quickly lead to overheating, accelerated wear, and in the worst case, unexpected breakdowns.
That’s why timely oil changes are essential. As a rule of thumb, replace the oil at least once a year or after 2,000 operating hours — whichever comes first. By doing so, you extend the lifetime of your machine, reduce the risk of costly downtime, and ensure consistent performance.

✅ Expert Advice & Oil Analysis
It’s not just about changing the oil — it’s about using the right one, and knowing when it’s time. If you’re unsure whether your hydraulic or gearoil is still fit for purpose, we offer oil analysis services. You can send a sample, or we can arrange local testing, to check for contamination, breakdown, or wear.
For our hydraulic systems, we recommend using ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil — this is the standard viscosity in many industrial settings for systems of your size and load. It offers a good balance between flow at working temperature and protection under pressure. For lubrication of gearboxes and other parts, we use ISO VG 220. (normal or foodgrade)
